This week has been TSAT Kindness week and children across the school and all the schools in the Trust have been thinking about ways to be kind to one another and spread kindness. In assembly on Monday children in Key Stage Two also learnt about the life of Mother Teresa and how she was a kind person who devoted her life to helping others. In Key Stage One children learnt about the importance of being a kind friend.

We were delighted to welcome Mr Sobayo to New Horizons on Monday in our KS2 assembly. Mr Sobayo is the parent of Rumaysa, Amaar and Sumayyah and is also an international artist!

We have had a great start to the term at New Horizons and children have settled quickly back into their routines after the long half term break. We have a busy term ahead up to Christmas and many exciting things to look forward to.

We have had a really exciting and busy final week of term that started with our celebration of Black History Month. On Monday we had a series of fantastic workshops to take part in which included steel pan workshops, djembe drumming and African mask making. To add to the excitement we even had ITV film certain activities that were then shown on their evening programme.

On Thursday it was excellent to see the whole school dressed in yellow to support the Young Minds Charity for World Mental Health Day. Children also carried out activities in class to find out more about how we can keep healthy mentally. Thank you for your support with this event.
