Dear Parents and Carers, As we enter the final stretch of the school year, the countdown is well and truly on! With less than a couple of weeks to go, it's more important than ever that children arrive on time and ready to make the most of these last school days. We’re all looking forward to our Summer Fete this Saturday, 12th July from 11:00am to 2:00pm. It promises to be a fantastic event for the whole school community, and we’d love to see as many of you there as possible!

What a fantastic week it’s been at New Horizons! Our Year 6 children had an unforgettable adventure on their Residential Trip to the Isle of Wight, making lifelong memories while exploring the great outdoors. Meanwhile, those who stayed behind enjoyed a week packed with fun, including a trip to the cinema, baking delicious treats, and an exhilarating visit to the Bewl Water Aqua Park.

What a busy and exciting week we've had at school! Despite the rainy weather, our incredible Year 1 and 2 pupils showed true determination and team spirit during their Sports Day—well done to all of them for taking part with such enthusiasm. Thankfully, the sun came out just in time for our Year 3 and 4 Sports Day, and it was a joy to see everyone enjoying the activities.

It's been a lovely week at New Horizons as we reach the end of June. This week, our Year 6 children have begun their transition to secondary school, with many attending special events at their new schools. We're so proud of how they're embracing this next chapter.

We are moving quickly through the month of June, and I’d like to take a moment to say a big well done to all our pupils for their hard work this week. Congratulations to our Year 1 and Year 2 children who have taken part in their phonics screening checks, to our Year 2 pupils for their effort and focus during end-of-year assessments, and to our Year 4 children who completed the Multiplication Tables Check. Your support at home plays a vital role in helping your child make progress—thank you for all that you do.

Welcome back to Term 6. We hope you had an enjoyable half term. We have a busy term ahead with productions, trips and the Year 6 residential visit. Children are showing hard working attitudes to their learning and we had a positive quality assurance visit this week from other leaders in the Trust who were impressed with our phonics teaching and curriculum development this year.
