We want to make learning irresistible so that your child comes to school every day happy and eager to learn. We know that children are naturally inquisitive and we aim to develop this curiosity by providing a curriculum that engages and excites but also provides challenge at the correct level.

Nursery Admissions

Our Nursery takes children aged between 3 years and up to 5 years old.

  • The minimum number of hours booked must be 15 hours, 5 days per week. 
  • A limited number of government-funded 30-hour spaces are available.
  • Parents and guardians wishing to apply for a nursery place must complete the New Horizons Children's Academy Nursery Application Form which is available from our school office or on our website.
  • The School Office will contact you in due course if we are able to offer your child a space.
  • Whilst the Nursery will always consider in-year admissions, subject to availability, our main nursery intake is in September and January of each year.

Please note that attendance at our Nursery does not guarantee a place in our Reception classes.

Appeals 

Appealing an offer for Year R

You can appeal for any school named on your application that has not been able to offer your child a place.
To do this you will need to complete an appeal request form.

The form and details of where to return it to for each school will be published in the next steps guide on offer day.

The deadline for submitting an appeal is Thursday 14th May 2026 for offers made on 16th April 2026.

For late applications, appeal requests should be submitted within 20 school days of your application outcome.

You can appeal after these deadlines but your appeal might not be heard at the same time as those submitted on-time.

When you appeal you:

  • can only appeal for schools named on your application.
  • can appeal for more than one school at the same time.
  • must complete a request form for each school you're appealing for.
  • can appeal for a school even if you have accepted another offer.

Schools will not know you have appealed for another school unless you tell them. The appeals for each school are completely independent of each other.
