World Book Day

What a success our World Book Day celebrations were! The children and staff showcased their favourite characters with many discussing their favourite books. The range of books that our children enjoy show that they really do have a love of reading which is a key skill to enable them to make good progress across all areas of the curriculum.

Children who read a wide range of genres outside of school, as well as the learning that we provide, are more likely to make the best possible progress. By working together to provide a range of reading experiences for the children we are continuing to strengthen our parent partnership, which is highly appreciated.

Reception classes were visited by an author who shared her amazing stories and the inspiration behind them and Year 2 children became authors themselves by creating new characters for Jack and the Beanstalk.
